Oriental Mindoro - Under the supervision of Mindoro Oriental-Marinduque-Romblon (MOMARO) Irrigation Management Office (IMO) Acting Division Manager Maria Victoria O. Malenab, the MOMARO IMO has successfully distributed a total of Php 2,369,725.59 cash assistance (1st Tranche) to five (5) Irrigators Associations. This initiative is part of the contract farming scheme aimed to improve, accelerate, and sustain quality rice production in support of the government’s program on attaining rice sufficiency through the provision of irrigation water and necessary agricultural inputs to enhance farmers’ productivity and competitiveness.
The beneficiaries of this assistance include the Samahang Magpapatubig ng Bayanan 2 Irrigators’ Association, Inc., Pakyas Duongan Leido Irrigators Association, Inc., Sumviltad Irrigators Association, Inc., Aklejo Irrigators Association, Aurora Naujan Oriental Mindoro Irrigators Association, and Mapalo Water System Irrigators. These associations play a crucial role in managing irrigation systems and ensuring efficient water distribution for farming activities in their respective areas.
The financial support provided will cover expenses related to labor and rental fees for land preparation and crop maintenance. Through continued collaboration and investment in agriculture, the MOMARO IMO remains dedicated to sustaining the growth and development of the farming community.
