Marinduque - In a significant stride toward bolstering agricultural and fisheries extension systems, the Province of Marinduque initiated the ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). The event witnessed the convergence of regional directors and representatives from various agencies across the MIMAROPA Region.
The Collaborative Provincial Agriculture and Fisheries Extension Program (CPAFEP), a vital component of the province-led Agriculture and Fisheries Extension System (PAFES), orchestrated this monumental occasion. Dignitaries from agencies such as the Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), National Irrigation Administration (NIA), Philippine Fisheries and Development Authority (PFDA), Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Marinduque State College (MSC), and the Provincial Local Government Unit (PLGU) of Marinduque graced the event.
This MOA signing ceremony signifies a pivotal milestone, fostering collaboration among National Government Agencies (NGAs) to realize the objectives outlined in the Provincial Commodity Investment Plan (PCIP) and CPAFEP. The collective effort of NGAs and Provincial Local Government Units (PLGUs) aims to transform the agricultural sector into a modernized and industrialized entity.
Among the key participants, the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) was represented by Engr. Daniel Angelo M. Malabanan, the Officer-in-Charge of NIA Marinduque, under the guidance of NIA MIMAROPA Acting Regional Manager Ronilio M. Cervantes and the supervision of the Mindoro Oriental-Marinduque-Romblon (MOMARO) Irrigation Management Office (IMO) Division Manager, Gerardo R. Perez.
