Narra, Palawan - The Maligaya May Pag-Asa Irrigators Association (IA) of Malatgao River Irrigation System (Malatgao RIS) celebrates the inauguration and turnover of a new harvester under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) program of the Department of Agriculture – Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (DA-Philmec) on June 26, 2023, at Barangay Sandoval, Narra, Palawan.
The ceremony was supported by representatives from DA Municipal Agriculturist Office (MAO), DA Philippine Agricultural Engineering Standards (PAES), Local Government Unit (LGU) Narra, Barangay Sandoval, Division I Federation IA President Richard Laurente, and Malatgao Batang-Batang RIS Senior Water Resources Facilities Technician (SWRFT) Arnaldo Magbanua and Irrigators Development Officer (IDO) Bonifacio Elefane.
Acting IA President Juan Magno expressed his gratitude for the grant of agricultural machinery that will help IA members improve their livelihood.
This development marks a significant milestone for the IA in pursuit of modernize farming practices and achieve sustainable agriculture.
