Under the leadership of NIA MIMAROPA Acting Regional Manager Ronilio M. Cervantes, Senior Engineer Benedict Santi Perez of the Regional Office, together with Principal Engineer Maria Victoria O. During the meeting, one of the highlights was the presentation of the Provincial Commodity Investment Plan (PCIP). The PCIP is a three-year rolling consensus and strategic plan that rationalizes the interventions within the various segments of the commodities value chain that are significant to the province and will contribute to the national goals of the agriculture and fishery sector. Also presented during the meeting were the Collaborative Extension Projects and Strategic Support Services which include Capacity Building, Institutional Strengthening, Location Specific Technology, Information and Knowledge Sharing, and Agri-fishery Enterprise Development. The CPAFEP will be the basis of the co-investment agreement among the LGUs, DA, BFAR, ATI, and other National Government Agencies as well as the private sector and other financial institutions.

Through PAFES under the management of the ORMINAFEC and with the CPAFEP as its holistic and strategic plan, an effective and efficient extension system is warranted towards achieving social and economic growth for the agriculture and fisheries sector in Oriental Mindoro.
