Oriental MIndoro - Two (2) Irrigators' Associations from Oriental Mindoro recently received two floating tillers from the Local Government Unit of Bongabong in Oriental Mindoro during the distribution program held at the Regional Evacuation Center in Panlanao, Sagana, Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro.
The activity, led by Mayor Doc Elgin Malaluan, Vice Mayor Richard Candelario, Councilor Jayson Barcelona, Municipal Agriculturist Gary Louie Sapinit, MAFC Chairman Mr. Nixon Hernandez and MAO staff, aims to assist its farmer constituents and increase agricultural productivity in the municipality.
IA President Ambrocio T. Adriano of Palusaje Farmers Irrigators Association, Inc., and IA Treasurer Susan Aragon of Samahang Magbubukid at Magpapatubig ng Barangay Labonan (SAMAMABALA), Inc., received the equipment on behalf of their respective IAs. The floating tillers will be of great help to the members of the IAs for fast and efficient land preparation.
The Irrigators' Associations expressed their heartfelt thanks to NIA MIMAROPA Regional Office under the leadership of its Regional Manager Engr. Ronilio M. Cervantes and NIA MOMARO IMO Acting Division Manager Engr. Maria Victoria O. Malenab through the IDP Implementers of NIA for their invaluable assistance in obtaining this machinery, and to LGU-Bongabong for this initiative and their careful consideration in selecting them as recipients.
