150 Farmers of Mansabang Irrigators' Association Benefitted to TUPAD Program as NIA Unites with DOLE

Marinduque-Under the guidance of NIA MIMAROPA Acting Regional Manager Ronilio M. Cervantes, the Mindoro Oriental-Marinduque-Romblon (MOMARO) Irrigation Management Office (IMO) headed by Division Manager Gerardo R. Perez together with the Mansabang Irrigators' Association, Inc., led by President Dominador M. Mansia, have joined hands with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) through their Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program for an essential project benefiting the members of Mansabang IA. One hundred fifty members (150) of the said IA, who are beneficiaries of the TUPAD Program, conducted sandbagging and canal clearing from September 4 to 14, 2023, at Mansabang CIS, Tampus, Boac, Marinduque.

TUPAD is a community-based package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed individuals, and seasonal workers, for a minimum period of 10 days. The TUPAD program for the Irrigators Association is an integral part of the convergence program involving various government agencies aligned with President Ferdinand R. Marcos,Jr. agenda of advancing agricultural development.

This program significantly benefits the Mansabang CIS beneficiaries by providing additional income to IA members while improving the operation and maintenance of the irrigation system.
