Palawan - In light of the guidance of National Irrigation Administration (NIA) MIMAROPA Regional Manager Ronilio M. Cervantes and Palawan Irrigation Management Office (IMO) Division Manager Armando L. Flores, 11 Irrigators Associations (IAs) in the province of Palawan recently acquired agricultural machinery from the inauguration of the Rice Mechanization Program under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) of the Department of Agriculture (DA) in the Municipality of Narra.
Among the fortunate recipients of these machinery are various IAs such as Macagua Farmer's Irrigators Association (FIA), Ibato Iraan FIA, Sanbag Holiday FIA, Sowangan FIA, and Agkakaruba Irrigators Association (IA). Each of these IAs has been provided with one unit of four-wheel tractor to enhance their agricultural operations. Additionally, the Magugurang IA, Babangon IA, Caguisan Linamen of Narra IA, Cabages Sunriser of Narra Palawan IA, Quinlogan Quezon FIA, and Taysay Minahaw FIA have received rice combine harvester.
These given machinery will greatly contribute to the productivity of 2,768 agricultural lands of 11 IAs and will benefit 994 farmers assisted by NIA.
