NIA MIMAROPA inaugurates new office establishments


Oriental Mindoro - To promote the good image of National Irrigation Administration (NIA) and to ensure a conducive environment for its employees and guests, the agency headed by Acting Regional Manager Ramon A. Bugacia inaugurates the newly-renovated canteen, dormitory and guest house on December 22, 2016 at NIA Compound, Bayanan II, Calapan City. Said activity is part of the Christmas celebration of NIA.

83 farmers to benefit from P21M Small Irrigation Project

Eighty three (83) farmers will benefit from the P21M newly-constructed Water Tacligan small irrigation project (SIP) of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) at Baco, Oriental Mindoro. This will cover the 240 hectares of municipalities of Baco and San Teodoro and will get its water from Matulin River.

Water Tacligan SIP is pump irrigation type where construction was started on May 2014 and was completed last September 2015. This aims to help increase rice production and water delivery including prevention of flooding on the service area.

Inactive and incapable officers leading to poor performance. This was the situation of the two IAs: Bataris sa Patubigan and Katiwala sa Patubigan before they combined to attain a more improved irrigation creating Elvita, Taritien, Malatgao (ETM) Farmers Irrigators Association.

Experiencing failure didn’t stop the IA; it even pushed them to gear up and climb to the top.

Engr. Ramon Bugacia takes office as NIA IV-B Acting Regional Manager

“Magkaroon tayo ng teamwork. Walang magagawa ang RM without the support of the base (staff).”

This was the statement of Engr. Ramon A. Bugacia when he takes office as the new acting regional manager of National Irrigation Administration Region IV-B last January 7, 2016. Welcomed by the regional office staff, an orientation was conducted at NIA Conference Room, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro to present the current status of the agency.
