Pangobilian Irrigator’s Association (IA) of Palawan Irrigation Management Office (PIMO) utilizes NIA subsidy coming from canal clearing activities to distribute food packs for 200 farmers affected by Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in the municipality of Brooke’s Pt., Palawan.
The food aid distribution was after the approval of the said IA officials and members to use few of their subsidy savings to support farmers covered within the service area of Tigaplan Communal Irrigation System (CIS) irrigating 500 hectares of rice field in town.
Said association with 122 farmer beneficiaries shows dedication and leadership to support the farmers’ need during COVID-19 pandemic.
