NIA MIMAROPA celebrates 11th Anniversary

Oriental Mindoro - NIA MIMAROPA celebrated its 11th Anniversary last May 19, 2022 with the theme “NIA MIMAROPA: 11 Years of Efficient Irrigation Service through Synergy, Sustainability and Security.” Led by Regional Manager William P. Ragodon, EOD Manager Lowell L. Lozano and AFD Manager Kirsty Caroline M. Hernandez-Aceron, the agency conducted various activities like mass, parade and opening of wellness restoration program and sportsfest. Said celebration was participated by Regional Office, MOMARO IMO and Occidental Mindoro IMO led by Division Managers Gerardo R. Perez and Division Manager Raymundo L. Calusin, respectively.

The celebration served as a venue for the NIA employees to look back on the 11 years that NIA MIMAROPA has served and provided irrigation services to the farmer clients and other stakeholders. Also, it served as an opportunity for the employees to socialize with each other through sports development program.

Regional Manager William P. Ragodon said in his message that Sportsfest is one way of attaining synergy, sustainability and security.

“Synergy means there is an interaction and cooperation of groups. And we are that. Through sportsfest, there will be an interaction. With the fact that we are working for one goal, to be one NIA, and to be able to accomplish the directives from the Top Management would like for us to do.”

He mentioned that the previous covered court cannot be used especially in sports hence, it was proposed that the facility be expanded and improved so it can be used throughout the year. This is related to the theme of synergy. “We need this place so that there will be interaction between offices not only in term of sports but also in terms of conferences and interaction with farmers so this is a multi-purpose edifice that we do have in MIMAROPA. Nagpapasalamat tayo kay Administrator at least with P30-million that we have, we can now see the difference.”

“Digging deeper, your cooperation and support to MIMAROPA has been momentous and very good for the past four years and I can say nothing but to thank you all. Salamat, salamat sa cooperation ninyo. When I was here, we were top performer for two times. Maybe for the third time, we will still be number one for 2021.”

“The moment we do something, we are guided by our vision and mission, we can accomplish a great effort. Once we are there, we need sustainability. Ipapakita natin na ang ginagawa natin dito is a remarkable feature doon sa ginagawa ng Central Office.”

“Do not deprive someone the right to give and right to be given a job. If you are deprived of something, hindi ibig sabihin you are no longer entitled to be there. Everybody is entitled and deserves to be promoted. If ever you have the necessary performance, you can be there. In terms of performance, pag sinabi kong gawin nyo yan, gawin nyo yan. Kung hindi nyo kaya, tutulungan ko kayo. Yan ang role ko as Regional Manager. Kapag sinabi nyong hindi nyo kaya, we will do it together. Why are we like that? Because we want to sustain our good performance.”

“Lastly, security; security in tenure sa work, in our agency, and everything. The only way to be secured is to deliver the best effort that you can do in order to arrive at a very good performance. You should do the best effort you can give to NIA. I hope this sportsfest and anniversary celebration will open your hearts, open your eyes and mind that NIA should have the desired synergy, can be sustained and should be secured. Happy 11th Anniversary to NIA MIMAROPA family.”

After the messages, the ceremonial lighting of torch was conducted, followed by oath-taking of players led by Mr. Mario Corderia Jr. After these, the Men’s basketball game between Occidental Mindoro IMO and MOMARO IMO began, followed by Women’s Volleyball game. The sportsfest will run from May to June 2022 while the physical fitness and wellness program will run until November 2022./AVGB
