NIA Chief visits MIMAROPA Region
“Our men, our best asset.”
These were the encouraging words of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) chief GEN RICARDO R VISAYA (Ret) during his visit in NIA MIMAROPA on October 11-12, 2017. With him is the newly-appointed Deputy Administrator for Administrative and Finance MGEN ROMEO G GAN (Ret). They were welcomed by NIA MIMAROPA employees headed by Regional Manager William P. Ragodon.
The NIA chief believed that strengthening the workforce fuels the success of an organization which is stipulated in his 4-point agenda. Moreover, he shared the good news to NIA MIMAROPA employees relative to the status of the salary standardization and benefits long to them.
Additionally, Gen. Visaya emphasized his distaste to unlawful acts reiterating President Duterte’s directive, “do what is right and legal” particularly in utilizing the agency’s budget. He also noted that to achieve NIA’s vision of being an efficient irrigation agency, modernization of equipment is needed.
The administrator also acknowledged the presence of the Irrigators Association (IA) and their effort as NIA’s partner in irrigation development. He assured that NIA will continuously provide support despite the free irrigation service fee.
After the dialogue with the IAs and employees, presentation of the region’s performance status was conducted. Administrator Visaya and Deputy Administrator Gan provided various insights to guide NIA MIMAROPA in improving their accomplishments.
The group then proceeded to Brgy. Mulawin, Naujan to visit the Baco-Bucayao River Irrigation Project.
